I love to put ‘objects’ on my flatbed scanner, and we are amazed by the magnification and depth of field.
I had a snail in a vivarium, and it hid in the empty shell of a garden snail (Helix aspersa). Naturally, I put it on the scanner and was astonished by the depth of field. This section includes many snail shells. Unfortunately, butterflies and other insects do not keep still, so I can only scan them when they have died.
This album is of sea shells found on New Zealand beaches. I particularly like the broken shells, which reveal the inner structure. Unfortunately, butterflies and other insects do not keep still, so I can only scan them when they have died.
This album contains scans of other plants, including the sorel flowers, which started off all my scanning.
